We get it- you’ve got a whole vacation planned to Pigeon Forge and it may be getting kind of pricey! Luckily, there are some great free things to do here that will make the entire family happy. Here are a few of our favorites!
Visit Lumberjack Square
Enjoy a relaxing day at Lumberjack Square! This quaint walkable plaza has unique shops, restaurants, and activities for the whole family. Nestled right in the middle is Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud Supper Show, the most affordable dinner show in Pigeon Forge, along with the Adventure Park. Watch as people participate in logger sports like speed climbing and boom running, and soar across the sky on the world’s first zipline coaster- The Flying Ox!
Location: 2530 Parkway, Pigeon Forge
Go Fishing
Most locals can attest that there is nothing quite as relaxing as going fishing. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park website has great information about it! Not to mention the added bonus of being one with nature for a while. Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN is just down the road and a great fishing spot!
Go on a Scenic Drive
We always recommend making time to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Weather here can certainly be unpredictable, so taking a drive through the park is always a safe bet to stay out of the elements and take in the views. Foothills Parkway, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Cade’s Cove are some of our top spots for a nice drive!
Explore Patriot Park and Old Mill Square
This scenic area in the heart of Pigeon Forge is the perfect place to throw frisbee, have a picnic, catch a few fish, and bring your dog. The paved trail around the park is fantastic for an afternoon walk and runs alongside the Little Pigeon River. You’ll be right next door to the Old Mill district where you can shop at local boutiques, eat delicious food, and sip some shine!
Location: 186 Old Mill Ave, Pigeon Forge
Enjoy Live Music
If being out in the city is more your speed, you may catch some live music played outside of Ole Smoky Moonshine at The Island! You can get the latest news on their website or by following them on social media. Fantastic local bands make appearances on stage regularly- keep an eye out!
Location: 131 The Island Dr, Pigeon Forge
Visit Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community
In this 8 mile loop you’ll find over 100 craftsmen, bed and breakfasts, and amazing food! It’s incredible to watch the craftsmen bring their ideas to life. You’ll see pottery makers, leather workers, jewelry makers, and more here! Appalachian art is one of a kind. Don’t miss this one!
Vacation doesn’t have to break the bank- we hope you enjoy these free activities!
